Byrd Meadowlark 2

Byrd Meadowlark 2

One of best value EDC knives available. The Byrd Meadowlark 2 is basically a cheaper version of the Spyderco Delica, minus the brand name price, and with 8Cr13MoV steel instead of VG-10. If you can get past the Meadowlark blade being 8Cr13MoV, which IS a perfectly good steel, then there’s really no need to spend 2 or 3 times as much on the Spyderco. The Byrd Meadowlark 2 is the perfect size and weight for an EDC knife and has a 4 way pocket clip, so you can position it any way you want. One thing I really like about the Byrd vs the Spyderco is the jimping on the choil. The 2 directional pattern on the FRN handle is surprisingly good, it works well when wet, and also while wearing gloves. There aren’t many knives in this price bracket that come close to the Meadlowlark 2′s quality and design – except for maybe the Ka-Bar Dozier Hunter.
